Let’s be honest, mid-Missouri isn’t exactly known for its punk scene. The heart of America is much more identifiable by its country and bluegrass shows.
However, Isaiah, Solomon, and Dee, the three brothers of Radkey, have something to say about that.
The band hails from St. Joe, Missouri, but you wouldn’t be able to tell by their brand of intense, thrashy punk. Although they’re yet to release a full-length, their output of two EPs, as well as multiple singles over the last few years, have gotten them national attention.
They’ve opened for acclaimed punk band Titus Andronicus and have even had their hand in the festival circuit, playing SXSW, Riot Fest, and Afropunk.
Plus, they’re also just dope dudes.
Their single, “Start Freaking Out,” is as fierce as anything you’ll hear this year, and their live Spotify Sessions EP proves that they’re able to translate their energy into a live setting. Think Fidlar + Cloud Nothings, and you’ll arrive at Radkey’s aesthetic.
Punk shows are far and few between in Columbia, so make sure to catch this trio and get sweaty on Friday night.
