We understand. Sometimes, it’s tempting to really take your time getting to a show. You have a nice dinner date beforehand, take a walk around downtown Columbia, and get to The Blue Note just in time for the main act. We’re here to tell you, you absolutely must not do that for the Say Anything show.
Once in a blue moon, there is a show with such consistently awesome bands that you just have to experience every single one. Who knows – The Front Bottoms or The So So Glos might be your new favorite band. Maybe not, but do you really want to take your chances with this one?
First off, The So So Glos’ latest album, Blowout, was featured on Rolling Stone as one of the 50 Best Albums of 2013, which we think is a pretty big deal. The magazine calls them “a band of brothers brimming with boyish energy and burn-down-the-house exuberance.”
The Front Bottoms recently released a new EP, which they named after one of their grandmothers and is one of our personal favorite releases this year. The Rose EP consists of six songs so awesome that each one will end up being your favorite. In case you want a preview of what you’ll be getting at the show, you can stream the EP here.
If all that doesn’t get you psyched for the Say Anything show, we don’t know what will.
